The Rock and Dissertations
May 2nd is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s birthday. Johnson is best known for being in… every action movie ever! How does he find the time? And, how can he help you get your dissertation done?…
Does this man sleep? It seems these days that Dwayne Johnson is everywhere. He starred in the Jumanji remake, sang as Maui in the Moana movie, was Hobbs in The Fast and the Furious franchise, starred in comedies like Baywatch and Central Intelligence, makes occasional professional wrestling appearances and has a new baby daughter.
If you told me this man was also writing his dissertation I honestly wouldn’t be surprised. So what gives? How in the world does he do it all?
The general consensus is simple: work ethic.
The Rock knows how to make a plan and has the discipline to work it. His work ethic and discipline are most amazing to me as to relates to his diet and exercise routines. Obviously, given his job, it would be a huge issue for The Rock if he no longer looked like, well…The Rock. So he makes diet and exercise a priority. Here’s a few highlights from his daily regimen:
- Does cardio from 4-5am
- Eats seven meals per day
- Eats 36oz of cod (yes, the fish) each day over 4 of the meals
- Lifts weighs 90 minutes per day
Check out the whole thing here…it is mind boggling.
If you made a dissertation completion version of The Rock’s diet and exercise plan, what would it look like? Most people need about 10-15 hours of diligent work each week to complete their dissertations, which is about how much time The Rock spends working out. Who knows how long it takes him to eat all that cod….
