Einstein and Dissertations

On March 20, 1916, Albert Einstein submitted the final version of his General Theory of Relativity to the German scientific journal Annalen der Physik, after a full decade of working on it! Let’s make sure the same thing doesn’t happen to your dissertation…

Albert Einstein is widely regarded as a genius. Strike that — The word “Einstein” is synonymous with genius! His general theory of relativity explains (among other things) why light bends in the presence of a gravitational field and why clocks run slower when they are further away from a source of gravity.

To celebrate the date of one of Einstein’s most important and enduring achievements, let’s look at a few quotes that relate to what you are trying to accomplish — a finished dissertation.

“If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?”
― Albert Einstein

So, don’t worry if you make mistakes along the way. That’s bound to happen when you try something new, but…

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
― Albert Einstein

You’re never going to finish if you’re stuck at the starting line or if you keep getting stalled. Plan out your study and just get started.

“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.”
― Albert Einstein
