Dick Vitale and Dissertations

June 9th is Dick Vitale’s birthday. Here’s how to be a PTP-er on your dissertation!…

“This is awesome baby!” Happy birthday, Dickie V!

Let’s grab hold the words of the world’s most enthusiastic sportscaster with both hands and use them to turn you into a dissertation PTP-er!

“My perfect day is to wake up with all kinds of energy and enthusiasm for the day, have a list of what I want to achieve, and at the end of the day look in the mirror and think man, this has been perfect. Everything I planned became a reality.”
— Dick Vitale

Devise a plan. Work your plan. Repeat.

Some days won’t be perfect. Depending on your perceptions, maybe noday will be perfect. You see, “perfection,” like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

But, even if you see a blemish or two on your day, was it good enough?Did you start with a plan? Get things done? Draw closer to your goal? Then, hey!, that’s a celebration-worthy day!

“A loser is someone who makes excuses and alibis and blames everyone else for their losses and failures.”
— Dick Vitale

Strong words, but the man has a point. Instead of using up your energy thinking up excuses for why you’re not getting your dissertation done, just get down to business. Craft a plan. Then, do it. When you start to notice all the progress you’re making, I bet you’ll say, “This is awesome, baby!”
