Getting Back Up and Dissertations

February 1st is National Get Up Day. The dissertation process can certainly get you down at times. Here’re some words to help you get back up…

Fall down seven times, get up eight.
— Japanese Proverb

I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.
— Thomas Jefferson

It always seems impossible until it is done.
— Nelson Mandela

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.
— Maya Angelou

If you can’t fly, then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.
— Martin Luther King, Jr.

Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.
― Nelson Mandela
